The Ice Dogs overcame a three-goal deficit in the third period to beat the Detroit Vipers, 6-5, in an International Hockey League shootout Saturday night.

John Byce had a hat trick for the Ice Dogs, including the game-tying goal with 49 seconds left.

The Ice Dogs made all four of their shots during the shootout; the Vipers made only two.
