SUPER BOWL XXX / Cowboys 27, Steelers 17 : Spotlight : FIVE-RING HALEY
The Cowboys’ 21-17 victory over the Steelers made Dallas defensive end Charles Haley the first player in Super Bowl history to earn five rings. He has won three with Dallas and two with the San Francisco 49ers.
His one sack and three tackles Sunday, even though he was playing for the first time since December back surgery, were apparently pretty intimidating.
Afterward, President Bill Clinton told Larry Brown to tell Haley he was looking for him, according to Brown.
Haley, for once, was actually in a mood to be caught.
“This is a magic moment,” he said. “I just thank God for this moment.”
He later added, “I would start crying, but I don’t want people to think I’m weak. Just trust me.”
