Deputies Searching for Moorpark Boy, 11
MOORPARK —
Sheriff’s deputies late Wednesday were searching for an 11-year-old Moorpark boy who had not returned home after school, authorities said.
According to deputies, Joel Birchfield failed to arrive home after he left Chaparral Middle School in Moorpark at 2:30 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department set up a command post near Joel’s home to coordinate a search.
As of late Wednesday, deputies were unable to provide details about his disappearance.
