BYTE OUTTA CRIME: A confidential Los Angeles police report says the Internet is a high crime neighborhood, rife with molesters, pornographers and con artists. The document prepared for West Valley City Council member Laura Chick says police are not equipped to deal with the threat. Critics say the report exaggerates the problem (B1).

SEE C-BEAR: Best known for his raspy-voiced rap hits, “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina,” Tone Loc will visit Pacoima today to help children celebrate African American History Month at Greater Missionary Baptist Church. The event will begin at 3:30 p.m. at 13451 Vaughn St. . . . The rapper now lends his vocal talents to Fox’s Saturday morning cartoon, “C-Bear and Jamal.”

POLO-TARIAN REVOLT: There are no royals in Lakeview Terrace, but the sport of kings has found a surprising following there. At the California Polo Club, laborers and salesmen have learned to love the game--from the back of a rented horse--long associated more with European bluebloods than American 9-to-5-ers (B1).
