Animal Photos Draw Pet Peeve, Praise

* Why would you choose to run photos of a puppy on the front page of the local news section? I find it hard to believe that local news was so sparse that you were forced to fill one-third of the page with such nonsense.

I certainly hope Beansy’s development into a mature dog won’t be the subject of a series. Do the community a favor and stick to reporting the news.

Thank you for the photos Jan. 30 on the charming pup from the Camarillo animal shelter. It was nice to see some good news.

You also helped to spread a very important message. Our animal shelters are full of great animals waiting for adoption. Most animals are turned in to the shelters due to “people problems,” not “animal problems.”

So thank you for showing the public that it is worth the time to visit our shelters, the Department of Animal Regulation at the Camarillo Airport and the Humane Society in Ojai. There are great dogs and cats available, and you will be giving a pet a second chance.
