Earthquake Rocks Southern France

TOULOUSE, France —
An earthquake hit southern France early today, damaging buildings and roads but causing no casualties, emergency services said.
The quake, a magnitude 5.6, according to police, caused thousands of frightened residents in the Pyrenees mountain region to telephone police to ask for help and advice.
The tremor was felt throughout the Pyrenees and in Barcelona, Spain.
