Driver Shot to Death After Leaving Accident, Police Say
A driver shot and killed another motorist in front of the victim’s 4-year-old son after the boy’s father drove away from a hit-and-run accident, police said Sunday.
Flaviano Hernandez, 26, of Compton, was pronounced dead at Martin Luther King Jr./Drew Medical Center, said Los Angeles police Det. Roosevelt Joseph. His son was not hurt.
Hernandez’s car had collided with a car driven by another man late Saturday, and after Hernandez drove off, the motorist chased him a short distance, to West 101st Street in Watts, Joseph said.
Both men got out of their cars and Hernandez was shot by the other motorist in the upper body, Joseph said.
The gunman drove off, and no arrest has been made.
