Finley’s Love of Game Was His Best Feature

Share

Having represented Charlie Finley for over 10 years, including the glory years of three consecutive World Series victories, I marveled at his genius and his intense love of the game.

No one else, with the possible exception of Branch Rickey, could claim to have influenced the game so much. More importantly, however, Charlie loved nothing more in life than the game of baseball. His love for the game was constantly misunderstood by those who had not truly analyzed the man. In all the years I represented him, he never once was derogatory about the game. He loved it, he nurtured it and wanted only to make it better and more exciting for the fans.
