Obituaries : * Nicholas A. Bucci; Ventura County Silversmith

Nicholas A. Bucci, a silversmith, died Feb. 19 at his Oxnard home. He was 88.

Bucci was born Oct. 28, 1907, in Schenectady, N.Y., and moved to California with his parents. He had lived in Ventura County for 17 years at the time of his death, which was caused by complications from heart disease.

Bucci worked as a silversmith, crafting silver punch bowls, sugar bowls and other items for clients both in the Los Angeles area and Ventura County.

In his life outside work, Bucci belonged to the Garabaldina Society, an Italian-American charitable organization.

He is survived by his son, James Bucci, and daughter, Cheryl Donna Bucci, both of Oxnard. Other survivors include brothers Bill Bucci of Sonoma and Jack Bucci of Duarte, sister Emma Bucci of Napa Valley, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Friday at Calvary Cemetery in Los Angeles. Funeral arrangements were handled by James A. Reardon Mortuary in Oxnard.
