Prostitutes’ Clothes
Costa Mesa police taking the clothes of suspected prostitutes is unconstitutional and wrong (Feb. 20). The argument for this policy is that otherwise they will go right back out on the street to do their work. My question is, why don’t they take the men’s clothes? It’s obvious clothes do not contribute to a “john’s” crime, but they may to a prostitute’s. With this thinking, then we should take away the cars of customers, since they will only use their cars to pick up prostitutes. This practice should be stopped. It’s unconstitutional and sexist.
