South Bay : MAN STABBED
Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a 66-year-old man who was found slain in his Manhattan Beach apartment and is the second homicide victim in the city in less than two months, authorities said Thursday.
Howard Walter Abbott was found stabbed to death Wednesday in his apartment at 221 24th St. His body was found by a friend who had keys to the home and stopped by for a visit, said sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Rodriguez.
Authorities are asking anyone who has seen Abbott’s copper-colored 1989 Acura Integra, license plate number 2NFS701, to call the sheriff’s office at (213) 890-5500.
