Pets, Owners to Parade Today in Fund-Raiser
Hundreds of animal lovers and their pets are expected at Dana Point Harbor today for the third annual Wag-A-Thon, a parade of dogs, cats and other critters.
Sponsored by ARF--Animal Rescue Foundation--the fund-raising event is held in conjunction with the annual Festival of Whales. It will feature a 2-K and 4-K walk from 8 a.m. to noon, with prizes awarded for best pet costume, best owner-pet look-alike, best pet trick and most money pledged.
This year’s celebrity guest canine is Vinnie, the one-eared terrier from the “Mike & Maty” morning talk show.
Registration is at 8 a.m. at Harbor Island. All animals must be on leashes. The entry fee is $20. All proceeds go to help ARF find homes for stray animals. Information: (714) 240-2899.
