Symphony Cancellation: The financially strapped Glendale Symphony has canceled its March 17 performance, one of six scheduled for the 1995-96 season, and is seeking funds that would allow it to present its fifth concert April 27 at the Alex Theatre. According to Glendale Symphony Assn. administrative director Leigh Trenham, a donation from the City of Glendale for $25,000 to put on that concert is contingent on raising an additional $40,000 to pay for the event. Trenham, who said the board is seeking corporate donations to fill the gap, estimated that it will take “two or three weeks” to raise the funds. “We ought to be able to finalize our plans by April 1,” she said.
