After a monthlong investigation, LAPD detectives arrested a Burbank man in the shooting death of a 22-year-old North Hills man, police said.

Andres Gutierrez, 24, repeatedly shot Adolfo Nunez in the upper body in front of a North Hills house in the 15800 block of Gresham Street, according to Sgt. Ronald Kubitsky of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Devonshire Division.

Witnesses said they saw Gutierrez arrive at the house around 10 p.m. Feb. 10 and shoot Nunez, Kubitsky said.

The victim ran behind the house and collapsed in an alley, where police found his body.

Almost four weeks later, having tracked the suspect through a light-colored car that witnesses said the gunman exited, detectives arrested Gutierrez at Chase Street and Cedros Avenue about 4 p.m. Thursday, police said.

The shooting was apparently drug-related, Kubitsky said.

The vehicle was later recovered at Gutierrez’s house.

An unidentified second suspect who drove the car from the scene of the shooting remains at large, Kubitsky said.

The case will be presented to the district attorney on Monday.
