In Brief : *** Lush, "Lovelife," 4AD/Reprise.

The band's fourth album sees the coed quartet transformed from shoegazers into the English Go-Go's. Lyrically, Miki Berenyi casts herself in a variety of arresting female roles, while the music carries enough '90s muscle and echoes of '60s Anglo-pop to slot alongside Blur and Pulp--whose Jarvis Cocker duets on the song "Ciao!"

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
