Goya Found: Workers renovating a government building in Madrid have stumbled upon a previously unknown painting by the 18th century Spanish master Francisco de Goya. The Prado Museum confirmed last week that the canvas, which shows redeemed souls being swept upward from purgatory to heaven, was found recently propped against a wall in an attic storeroom and was indeed a Goya. The untitled work is to be put on display in May, after it’s restored at the museum. Museum officials said the painting is in very good condition.
