A 21-year-old Van Nuys man was sentenced to 90 days in jail for yelling at Los Angeles police officers and slamming a door in their faces, authorities said Friday.
Eric Miles Fields was sentenced Thursday by Van Nuys Municipal Judge Alan Ellis after pleading no contest to a charge of failing to obey police officers, Deputy City Atty. Debra Siedorf said.
Fields was arrested following a shouting match between him and another man outside a Sepulveda Boulevard apartment complex, Siedorf said. When officers ordered him to quiet down, Fields continued shouting and slammed his apartment door in their faces, she said.
Fields was also in violation of his probation for a previous conviction of carrying a loaded gun, Siedorf said.
