Maybe Managers Need an ‘A-Chip’

Companies with concerns about their employees wasting time in cyberspace or accessing non-business-related sites (“Cyberloafing@Work,” March 10) could make use of some of the software designed to help parents prevent children from accessing adult-related sites.

Some of this software allows the user to define what cannot be accessed, and companies could use it to block employee access to adult-related sites and/or whatever else they might deem inappropriate for access during business hours. They could continue to monitor access, informing employees as such, and when other sites are accessed that the company deems inappropriate for business hours, they could update the blocking software.
