Fullerton Rallies in Ninth to Beat Golden West
Fullerton scored six times in the top of the ninth inning to beat Golden West, 10-8, in Orange Empire Conference baseball Tuesday.
The host Rustlers (10-10, 4-6) were leading, 5-4, going into the inning. Andy Tellez’s three-run double and RBIs by Poncho Ruiz, Matt Simpson and James Jekums gave the Hornets a 10-5 lead.
Golden West rallied, scoring three runs on Kevin Loken’s double. After hitting a batter to put the winning run at the plate, Fullerton reliever Sam Sullivan struck out Charlie Tuggle to end the game.
In other conference games:
Cypress 7, Riverside 3--Cypress scored four runs in the bottom of eighth after Riverside had scored three in the top of the inning to tie the score. Jeremy Booth had a two-run homer, his fourth of the season, in the sixth for the Chargers (20-6, 8-2).
Orange Coast 5, Rancho Santiago 2--Deric Yanagisawa had two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs for Orange Coast (16-6, 4-6).
