Laughlin’s River Stampede Rodeo

More than 500 contestants are expected to participate in the second Laughlin River Stampede Rodeo from Thursday through next Sunday in Laughlin, Nev.
The event--featuring an overall purse of $120,000 and some of rodeo’s best cowboys, according to organizers--will include bareback and bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, saddle bronc riding and calf roping. The actions (pictured left) begins at 1:30 p.m. daily at the 4,000-seat arena at Big Bend Drive and Edison Way. Tickets are $10 Thursday and Friday and $12 Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday and Saturday nights, cowpokes give way to country music concerts. Performances begin at 7:30 both nights and feature BlackHawk and Ty Herndon. Friday night’s performance is $10; Saturday’s is included in a rodeo/hotel package. Information: (800) 4-LAUGHLIN.
