In another league game:

Bolsa Grande 3, Santiago 0--Mary Petrie pitched a two-hitter for Bolsa Grande (8-5, 3-0).

In nonleague softball:

Brea Olinda 4-3, Villa Park 1-0--Geney Orris homered in both games and Tiffany Witton (3-1) pitched a five-hit shutout and struck out 14 in the second game for Brea (6-4).

Century 1, Brethren Christian 0--Dawn Lopez pitched a one-hitter and recorded five strikeouts for Century (4-0). Teammate Renee Ramos drove in the only run with a single in the fourth.

Cypress 2, Westminster 0--Lisa Monreal pitched a two-hitter and scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth for host Cypress (3-6-1) in the second game of a doubleheader. Westminster won the first game, 8-3.

Los Alamitos 9, Long Beach Wilson 1--Cyndy Treadway had two doubles, two runs scored and four RBIs and Sara Kahler had two hits and three RBIs for host Los Alamitos (9-3-1).

Magnolia 2, Capistrano Valley 1--Connie Spence had three hits for the Cougars (4-11), who had nine hits. Magnolia (3-4) scored two unearned runs in the second.

Western 8, Santa Ana Valley 0--Andrea LaPena pitched a no-hitter for Western (8-3). Adrienne Ratajczak had three hits for the Pioneers.

In Academy League boys’ baseball:

St. Margaret’s 31, Fairmont 0 (5, mercy)--Ian Swanson struck out 10 and didn’t allow a hit against Fairmont (0-3, 0-1), playing its first season of varsity baseball. St. Margaret’s is 2-2-1, 1-0.

In the Century League:

Canyon 13, Orange 9--Bobby Fry was four for four with a double, triple and three RBIs and Brandon Smith was two for three with three RBIs for sixth-ranked Canyon (9-1, 4-0).

Villa Park 4, El Modena 1--Jason Spainhower pitched a three-hitter, allowing only an unearned run in the seventh, for visiting Villa Park (4-5-1, 1-3).

In the Empire League:

El Dorado 7, Kennedy 4--Mike Castillo’s three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh won the game for El Dorado (7-5, 3-2). Tom Haas and Lance Funaoka homered for Kennedy (6-5, 1-3).

Katella 7, Century 0--Keith Kuehnel pitched a three-hitter, striking out six and walking three, for visiting Katella (8-3, 4-0), ranked fifth in the county.

In the Olympic League:

Calvary Chapel 4, Orange Lutheran 0--John Tucker pitched a two-hit shutout and recorded five strikeouts for Calvary Chapel (6-4, 4-0).

In the Pacific Coast League:

University 6, Estancia 4--Tim Pick had three hits and an RBI for host University (6-5, 3-1).

In nonleague games:

Heritage Christian 32, Los Angeles Pacific Christian 2 (5, mercy)--Jay Williams had four hits and four RBIs and pitched a three-hitter to earn the victory for host Heritage Christian (4-4), which set a school record for runs and scored 25 runs in the second inning.

In Century League golf:

Villa Park 191, Foothill 229--Andy Clark shot par 36 at the Green River Orange course for Villa Park (6-0, 3-0).

Valencia 195, Western 237--Eric Lama and Bruce Campbell both shot one-under 36s to lead Valencia (7-2, 3-0) at Alta Vista.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Aliso Niguel 192, Laguna Beach 207--Aliso Niguel’s Mike Kendall, using a five-iron, made a hole-in-one on Aliso Creek’s 200-yard fourth hole. Kendall shot a two-under 32 for the Wolverines (4-3, 3-0).

Laguna Hills 188, University 189--Sophomore Tom Osseck birdied four of the last five holes and finished with a two-under 34 for Laguna Hills (4-3, 1-1) at Leisure World. Juan Hernandez placed second with a 36 for the Hawks.

In the Sea View League:

Santa Margarita 371, El Toro 402--Steven Wagner shot three-under 69 for Santa Margarita at El Toro Marine Base.

In the South Coast League:

San Clemente 198, Mater Dei 198 (SC wins on sixth man, 44-51))--San Clemente got the victory when Mike Zapel, the Tritons’ sixth man, was seven shots better than Mater Dei’s sixth man. Jason Gross shot a two-over 37 for San Clemente (3-0 in league) at Pacific. Bret Parker was the medalist (36) for the Monarchs (6-4, 0-3).

Trabuco Hills 203, Dana Hills 211--Ryan Kelley shot a two-over 38 for Trabuco Hills (7-0, 3-0) at Coto de Caza’s North course.

In the Sunset League:

Marina 195, Fountain Valley 195 (Marina wins one-hole playoff, 21-22)--The teams were tied after nine holes and returned to play No. 1 in a one-hole playoff. In the final foursome, Marina’s Craig Chlebicki made a seven-foot par putt and freshman Scott Osterhout made a five-foot par putt to clinch the victory.

Karl Johnstone shot one-over 36 at Meadowlark for Marina (3-3, 1-0). Fountain Valley is 8-2, 1-1.

In Golden West League tennis:

Servite 10, Saddleback 8--Ali Sajadian and Ryan Mauban swept in doubles, 6-0, 6-1, 6-0, for host Servite (6-5, 3-0). Saddleback is 7-3, 2-1.

In the Sea View League:

Woodbridge 15, Santa Margarita 3--Woodbridge (5-2, 1-1), ranked second in the county, swept the nine singles sets in its victory over Santa Margarita (9-2, 1-1) ranked fifth in the county.

In the South Coast League:

Dana Hills 17, Mater Dei 1--Elliott Fisher swept, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3, for third-ranked Dana Hills (8-0, 1-0), which did not lose a set in singles.

Mission Viejo 11, San Clemente 7--Sophomore Eric Bachelor, whose record is 20-1 for the season, swept his sets, 6-0, 6-1, 6-1, for Mission Viejo (5-3, 1-).

In the Sunset League:

Los Alamitos 9, Edison 9 (Los Alamitos won on games, 86-80)--Trailing, 9-8, host Los Alamitos, ranked seventh in the county, prevailed after Todd Kaplan won his final singles set, 6-3. Nilesh Vora and Adriano Satele swept in doubles, 7-6, 6-4, 6-0, for Los Alamitos (8-1, 3-0).

In South Coast League boys’ volleyball:

San Clemente 3, Mission Viejo 0--Brandon Taliaferro had 15 kills for host San Clemente (7-5, 1-0), which won, 15-9, 15-11, 15-8.

In the Olympic League:

Whittier Christian 3, Ontario Christian 1--Steve Willey had 22 kills for host Whittier Christian (4-3, 1-1), which won, 15-7, 8-15, 15-3, 16-14. Ontario Christian is 7-2, 1-1.
