Westside : New Cyber Center Opens for Gays
Gays and lesbians who want to get on-line can access the Internet for free on six computers that have been installed at a new cyber center in Hollywood.
The cyber center is run by the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center at its offices in Hollywood.
The idea and initial funding came from researchers at USC exploring ways to give Net surfing a more social appeal.
The Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center made the USC research a reality.
Although the computers are available to anyone, the center designed the cyber center as a community computing place for gays and lesbians.
The center also has set up a Web site (www.qcc.org), listing organizations that provide services to gays and lesbians.
