Bubb Can Make the Tough Decisions

Share

Regarding the recent letter about Paul Bubb’s ability to fill the athletic director position at CSUN, I feel compelled to add my voice of support.

As a volunteer and current president-elect of the Chatsworth Chamber of Commerce, I have had many occasions to work with Bubb and members of his staff. Let me tell you, this is a man who is thoroughly organized and dedicated to finishing each task as a winner!

He also has one trait that is the sure sign of a great leader and that is he can make tough decisions, keeping in mind what is best for the most rather than trying to maintain the status quo or stay popular among the “in crowd.”

There have been some major changes at CSUN, including high-level personnel movement, a new Division I conference affiliation, and many new (and income-producing) uses of the North Campus property. These changes are leading to a bigger and better sports program at CSUN and I believe Bubb’s involvement is one major reason for the success we are seeing and will experience in the future.

Nobody likes to see a popular coach forced to leave a program after years of loyalty and hard work as has happened recently at CSUN. But if we expect our students and athletes to move into the next century with a winning program then I have to say Paul Bubb is the man to take us there. He is proving it by making the hard decisions, working with diligence throughout the community to build relationships that will benefit CSUN and demonstrating his willingness to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.
