Valleywide : Rain Possible, but Hardly Noticeable

Share

For the first day of April, weather watchers are keeping an eye out for something unmentionable hitting the San Fernando Valley.

“It’s the dreaded R-word, as a compatriot here describes it,” said Eugene Van Cor, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

Actually, the chance of rain coming to the Valley today is less than 50% and any that does fall will do in the afternoon as a fast-moving storm system speeds through the area, leaving less than one-tenth of an inch, Van Cor said.

Rain is more likely in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

Overcast skies this afternoon will probably cool the weather today. Although high temperatures reached the 80s this weekend, they probably will drop to the low 70s today, Van Cor said.

Later in the week, the Valley will warm up again and a more seasonal weather pattern--patchy low clouds and nighttime and early-morning fog--will return.
