North Hollywood : Boy, 9, Cracks Skull, Breaks Arms in Fall
A 9-year-old boy fell about 14 feet from a roof Thursday, breaking his forearms and cracking his skull, authorities said.
It was unclear why the child was on the roof in the 5700 block of Tujunga Avenue in North Hollywood when he fell about 2 p.m., Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said.
An ambulance took the boy, who was unconscious but breathing, four blocks to North Hollywood Park, where a helicopter landed and took him to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, Collis said.
The child, who also suffered bruises to his lungs and chest, is listed in fair condition, a hospital spokesman said.
