Strangers Help Ease Pain of Pet’s Death

Share

On April 2, my dog escaped from home as the result of a contractor’s carelessness. The dog was hit by a car and had to be “put to sleep.”

There are numerous people who helped Cocoa, people whose names I do not know, some I have never met. This is an open letter of thanks to the two women in separate vehicles who stopped when they saw an injured dog in the street, the woman who cared enough to take Cocoa to the shelter, the veterinarian who was called in to care for her and the staff at the Animal Shelter in Camarillo, as well as the numerous others who saw my “missing dog” signs and cared enough to stop by or call.

These are people who in some way really made a difference, and I appreciate the opportunity to sincerely thank each and every one of them.
