Charles Darwin, also with a poor student record, was admitted to a university with the help of his father, a famous physician and well-known alumnus.
Albert Einstein, a former high school dropout and with a very poor record, had no important man to help him get into college, so he repeated a year of his high school studies to raise his grades sufficiently to be allowed to enter a technical university.
