AND THE WINNER IS. . .
A tight race between six candidates vying for three City Council seats in El Segundo drew 29% of registered voters Tuesday.
The three new council members are businesswoman and former Chamber of Commerce President Sandra Jacobs, who won 25% of the vote, former state Democratic Party Chairman Mike Gordon with 18% and business consultant Nancy Wernick with 16%. Stephen Storm and Terry Ceretto each had 14% while incumbent Michael D. Robbins tallied 12%.
The new council members take office on April 16, joining Jane Friedkin and Liam Weston, whose terms expire in 1998.
