Divers Fail to Find Man Feared Drowned in Lake
After two days of searching Pyramid Lake, divers with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department have been unable to find a Simi Valley man who disappeared into the deep waters during the weekend.
Craig Moore, 33, fell off a boat about 2:40 p.m., Saturday. For hours on Sunday, Sheriff’s Department divers combed the area where Moore disappeared, near the dam at the lake’s southern end, but could not locate him, said Deputy Carrie Stuart.
Although the search was set to resume at 9 a.m. today, , deputies fear Moore drowned, Stuart said.
Moore was boating with another man at the time of the accident. Stuart said she didn’t know why Moore, who was not wearing a life preserver, fell off the boat. The boat’s operator reportedly told police he feared the boat struck Moore after he fell.
