. . . Volunteers at the Laguna Beach sea mammal rescue center were puzzled by the discovery of nine ailing baby elephant seals on Orange County beaches.
“Elephant seals, especially young ones, don’t normally swim very much,” a rescue center volunteer said. “Feeding this bunch is putting a strain on our limited nonprofit budget.”
