Volunteers : Helping hands : People Needed to Help at New Center
The city is seeking volunteers to help with programs at the new Community Center, set to open in July.
Volunteers are needed in areas such as clerical support, computer training, arts and crafts, games and sports, tutoring, baby-sitting, health education and literacy programs, officials said.
The Community Center is a 51,000-square-foot facility with meeting rooms, an arts studio, a gymnasium with two full-size basketball courts, a cafe and fitness area. The center also will offer youth sports programs, parenting classes and counseling.
