Countywide : Totmobile Program Will Be Honored
The Totmobile, a custom-built “classroom on wheels” that provides free therapeutic and educational services to developmentally disabled children and their parents, will be honored today as Program of the Year by the United Cerebral Palsy Assns.
The award will be presented to the Orange County chapter of the Washington, D.C.-based organization at the annual meeting of UCPA affiliates in Anaheim.
Initiated in July 1994, the Totmobile is 35-foot-long vehicle that brings services to infants and toddlers whose parents have difficulty traveling to treatment facilities.
The Totmobile is now operating in Anaheim, Costa Mesa, Fullerton, Garden Grove and La Habra. Twenty children are enrolled in the program.
