SMASHING DUO

I love Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme, and I consider myself to be part of the “Smashing Pumpkins, U2 crowd” Robert Strauss referred to in his article on the fantastic duo (“Together Wherever They Go,” April 14).

A few years back, my brother and I went to see Steve & Eydie live at the Pacific Amphitheatre. To be sure, we were a novelty--among the youngest, if not the youngest in the crowd. As we told our fellow concert-goers, don’t dismiss us because we are young. Age is not a prerequisite to the appreciation of good music.
