Monroe Appointed to Superior Court Bench

Gov. Pete Wilson on Wednesday appointed William M. Monroe as Superior Court judge for Orange County. He succeeds Judge Luis A. Cardenas, who has retired.
Monroe, 61, is a Corona del Mar resident and has been an attorney in Orange since 1973. He had served as attorney for the Orange County public defender’s office from 1969 to 1971.
He is a member of the Orange County Bar Assn., the Orange County Catholic Lawyers Assn., the California Attorneys for Criminal Justice and the California Public Defenders Assn.
In his new position, Monroe will receive an annual salary of $107,390.
