Tour of Homes to Benefit Hospice

Share

Six Santa Clara Valley homes that reflect the history of the region and their occupants will be opened to visitors Sunday as part of the annual Hospice Home Tour.

The 13th annual tour benefits the Hospice of Santa Clara Valley, which provides free care to terminally ill residents of the valley.

The homes include a contemporary take on a Victorian mansion with panoramic valley views set amid orange groves in Bardsdale. The houses contain memorabilia of the 1920s and 1930s as well as an extensive doll collection.

There is also a Fillmore home that boasts a mini-museum of paintings and sculptures. Another is filled with massive walnut furniture and other family heirlooms designed in 1919 by the same architect responsible for the landmark Ventura City Hall.

Tour tickets are $10 in advance at numerous locations in Fillmore, Santa Paula and Ventura or $12 the day of the event.
