Actress Stephanie Edwards will be the keynote speaker at the fifth annual Simi Valley Women’s Day at the Rancho Santa Susana Community Center.

Workshops will include telecommuting, women in business, self-esteem, coping with depression, preventing skin cancer, beauty techniques and caring for elderly parents and young children.

“What makes women healthy is a combination of things--being happy, content and fulfilled, learning how to deal with being overwhelmed when you are and learning how to balance,” Nelson said. “Today, women are stretched to the max with their careers, motherhood and taking care of older parents. The better coping skills they have, the more healthy they can be.”

Sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital & Health Care Services, Aspen Outpatient Center and the Nancy Reagan Breast Center, Simi Valley Women’s Day will be held from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The cost is $25 for one person or $35 for two if tickets are purchased by Friday . At the door, cost is $30 for one person and $45 for two.
