Supervisors to Hold Hearing on $270-Million Bond for Parks

A $270-million bond issue to purchase new parks and maintain and improve existing parks in Los Angeles County moved one step closer to the November ballot Tuesday when the Board of Supervisors set a public hearing for June to finalize the proposal.

Encouraged by voters’ approval of a larger 1992 park bond measure, backers of the latest bond measure won approval for the hearing on a 3-1 vote just before the supervisors left for a two-day lobbying trip to the nation’s capital.
