Kelly O’Connor

Esperanza, Senior

Track and Field

O’Connor has had unprecedented success in high school track and field. She won the triple jump at the Orange County Championships four years in a row, the only athlete--boy or girl--to accomplish that feat. She is also the only county girl with legal triple jump marks of better than 40 feet. At the Sunset League finals last week, she had three, including 40 feet 11 3/4 that broke her record by 5 1/4 inches. She also won the 100 meters in a personal best 12.55 and improved her PR in the long jump by a foot, jumping 19-8 3/4 and finishing second to Edison’s Kerry O’Bric.
