MetroStars Winners in Shootout

The New York-New Jersey MetroStars, with Nicola Caricola and Ruben Hernandez scoring in the shootout, defeated D.C. United, 2-1, Sunday before 14,722 at RFK Stadium in Washington.
John Harkes scored in the 11th minute of regulation for D.C. United (1-6) and Giovanni Sevarese tied it in the 64th for the MetroStars (0-3-2).
Ben Crawley scored the only shootout goal for D.C. United.
