Granada Hills : Branch Library Will Be Closed for Repairs

Share

Beginning this week, the Los Angeles Public Library’s Granada Hills branch will be closed for two weeks of minor repairs in and around the 34-year-old building.

According to Fontayne Holmes, assistant director of branches, the work will involve repairing cracks in the floor that require removing the library’s carpeting. In addition, city workers will improve drainage along an exterior sidewalk.

“Nothing’s going to show,” she said, describing the work as minor.

Located at 10640 Petit Ave., the branch was built in 1962 and expanded in 1975. Following the Northridge earthquake in 1994, major structural repairs were required to return the building to public use. The current repairs are unrelated to the quake, Holmes said.
