JetHawks Thwarted Twice; Losing Streak Grows to 10

Share

The JetHawks’ losing streak reached double digits Thursday as they were swept by the Stockton Ports in a doubleheader. The Ports needed 10 innings to win the first game, 3-2, then took the second, 2-1, in seven. Both games were scheduled to go seven innings to make up last night’s rainout.

Scott Krause, who homered earlier, hit a two-out single in the 10th in the first game off reliever John Daniels (1-2).

Dusty Wathan hit his fourth home run in the seventh to pull the JetHawks even at 2-2.

The JetHawks had jumped to a 1-0 lead in the third when Jose Cruz Jr. tripled home Wathan.

Marcus Sturdivant and Carlos Villalobos each had two hits for the JetHawks.

Stockton struck for both of its runs in the fourth inning of the second game. Consecutive doubles by Toby Kominek and Mike Rennhack accounted for one, and one out later, Rob Campillo singled home Rennhack.
