Wow! Baseball Players Are Really Swell Guys
I looked forward to Bill Plaschke’s article in Sunday’s edition (May 12) about the questionable letter written by Josh Nelson that besmirched Mike Piazza’s good name and reputation.
I had to read it three times, thinking I had missed “it.” I read that in the past that letter “would have been checked 10 times before landing in a newspaper.” But, nope, I couldn’t find “it.”
“It” is an apology to Mike Piazza and to his good name. Shame on you!! I was taught that a person’s good reputation was one’s most valuable commodity and could not be bought or sold, yet you feel no compunction about printing a letter willy-nilly that damages one of our finer sports figures on and off the field.
