Roosterfish Catch Is One to Crow About
A 74-pound roosterfish was hooked from a Cabo San Lucas beach and pulled through the surf after a 1 1/2-hour struggle on 15-pound test line by an Oregon angler and a local guide. The fish would have qualified for a line-class world record had not the rod been passed from one angler to another.
“Had I known it was that big, I would never have passed it off [to my client],” said surf-fishing guide Jeff Klassen, owner of Los Cabos Fishing Center.
