Fitz School Students Win Music Trophies
Students at Fitz Intermediate School won 11 trophies for outstanding choral and instrumental performances at the recent Music Showcase Festival at Magic Mountain.
The school’s orchestra won first place in its category, and the band was rated the best overall instrumental group in a competition among junior high schools from across the region.
The orchestra’s bass and treble sections also won awards in their respective categories.
Among the students who received individual awards were Marty Ross and Catalina Juarez, outstanding vocal soloists; and Matt Wight and Duong Nguyen, outstanding trumpet soloists.
The music festival was held earlier this month at the theme park in Los Angeles County.
