Gipper Redux

Bill Clinton’s staff has looked to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library near Simi Valley--possibly for hints on how to stay in the Oval Office for eight years. . . . Joanne Drake, the former president’s chief of staff, confirms that White House personnel have requested files on Reagan’s travels prior to his 1984 reelection bid.

Coming Home

Southern California native Pat Sweeney has had a varied career--from bank official to head of a plywood company near Portland--but the seasoned executive says he’s glad to now call Ventura County home (D7C). . . . Better weather and being close to family enticed him to become director of business development for the Greater Oxnard Economic Development Corp. “I’m walking on the beach every chance I get,” he says. “And I also enjoy playing golf in the sunshine.”
