The city is continuing to work toward the annexation of the section of Anaheim that includes Esperanza High School.
The City Council has passed a resolution proclaiming it will continue with studies to annex the 55-acre high school and a small part of the neighborhood surrounding it.
Mayor Pro Tem Barbara Kiley said the council has been interested for years in obtaining the high school. Most of its students live in Yorba Linda, she said.
More important, she said, the council believes that having a high school in Yorba Linda would promote community pride.
