Hafner Remembered for His Love of Golf
I was saddened to read of the passing of Dan Hafner, a terrific man as well as a wonderful sportswriter.
Having known Dan for many years, I have known him to be an especially outstanding golf writer. He knew golf, played golf and loved to write about golf.
Over the past few years, my brother, Roger Barber, fitted Dan for a new set of clubs. Each time I would see him I would ask how he liked them. His face would light up and he would always have a story about how his new “weapons” had helped him to a better score.
Roger and I are so grateful we were able to add some enjoyment to Dan’s last golf days the way he added so much to all of our lives with his pen and ink.
