Puroflow Rebounds With 1st-Quarter Profit

Puroflow Inc., a Van Nuys maker of filtration systems, said its profit for the first fiscal quarter that ended April 30 was $213,462 compared with a loss in the first quarter last year of $41,140.

Revenue for the quarter was up 20% to $2.17 million, from $1.81 million in the same quarter a year ago.

The company said the improvement came in part due to the sale and shutdown of unprofitable operations.
