Micom Gets Service Award From Simi Free Clinic
The board of directors of the Free Clinic of Simi Valley has selected Micom Communications as the 1996 recipient of the Spirit Award, which is presented for outstanding service and commitment to the clinic and the community of Simi Valley.
The award to the telecommunications company was presented at the clinic’s 25th annual dinner and silent auction.
“Micom epitomizes the concept of good corporate citizen, involving both corporate and individual employee resources,” said Fred Bauermeister, executive director of the Free Clinic. “This company doesn’t merely open a checkbook, as welcome as that is, but generously donates time and energy toward improving the lives of children.”
In addition to the Free Clinic, Micom’s sponsorships include various schools in Simi Valley, the Boys & Girls Club and the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.
The Free Clinic provides medical care, counseling and legal assistance to individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay.
