OLYMPIC REPORT / 35 DAYS TO THE GAMES

Former national champion Felicia Zimmerman of Rush, N.Y., defeated Sara Walsh of Mishawaka, Ind., 15-4, to win the women’s Division I foil title at the U.S. fencing national championships in Cincinnati. Joining Zimmerman on the Olympic team will be two-time national champion Ann Marsh and Suzanne Paxton, both of Rochester, N.Y.

In its final tuneup before setting up its pre-Olympic camp, the U.S. women’s soccer team beat the Long Island Lady Riders, 3-0, on two goals by Tisha Venturini in Uniondale, N.Y. The team begins intensive training next week near Orlando, Fla.
